Ho-Ly-Crap do I hate the Texas license plates. I’ve never seen something so amateur and…just ridiculous looking. I’m actually embarrassed that I have one on each of my cars! If I wasn’t so damned lazy, I would have gone and gotten vanity plates like I did on just about all my previous cars.
I heard today that Texas will have a new license plate soon! This is a picture of the “winning design.” Check out the Houston Chronicle article that shows the other designs that Texans voted on. The results are posted on the TxDot site here.

When I bought this Vette, Dick (the guy I bought it from) couldn't locate the original window sticker. So…I had heard rumors that the factory build sheet was put in the front frame cross member at the factory. So…I decided to rip apart the car and see if it was true.
Yes, I did this all to get the build sheet, which I could have just ordered a copy of from the National Corvette Museum.

It's not new, but it's new to me.
I had black '99 Corvette a while back, but once we started having kids, it was just too impractical. I also at the time was building a '69 Chevy stepside pickup. See my blog about it here.
The truck was taking a lot of time to build, and Bonnie suggested that I get rid of it and get a car that is already built so I could spend more time inside with her and the kids instead of grinding and welding in the garage. She suggested I find another Corvette.
I found this one in Florida. Single owner, older lady. It was in great shape, and it was the color I've always wanted. So…Davis and I flew to Florida, and drove this bad boy home. 24 hours door to door. Not too bad.
Anyone want a truck?
